I am always looking for new ways to expand my sewing knowledge, techniques and creativity. A pretty thrift store skirt, a cute little dress pattern from See Kate Sew and my beautiful great niece Leona, were the perfect combination for this challenge. I disassembled the skirt making sure to keep the original hem with the orange ribbon. New orange fabric was used as the lining for the bodice and additional orange fabric was used for the bloomers. I created a scrappy fabric flower and attached it to a headband for a completed look!! As you can see, Leona is the perfect model for this adorable cotton upcycled summer dress.
