This outfit is inspired by my daughter who is wearing it! She is getting older and fussier about what she will wear, so upcycling can help me get the look she loves for less! She loves a classic mix of modern and vintage and will not often wear dresses, so I made a top and shorts from these 2 gorgeous curtains. I had them both in my upcycling stash already, waiting for just the right projects. The new fabrics I used are a white cotton for backing and lining the lace and an ivory chiffon for the straps. I used the Little Lizard King Lexington pattern for the top and hacked the Ibiza pants pattern for the shorts. I have always loved to upcycle and would agree with all of Candice’s tips!
I have written a blog post about my entry which you can view here https://idlesunshine. wordpress.com/2018/05/28/ upcycling-challenge-little- lizard-king-lexington-ibiza/

I can only imagine how challenging it can be to sew for a tween. I think you nailed the look though. Curtains are definitely an upcycling favorite of mine as well.
