2018 Upcycling Challenge

Cari Beauregard

Here is my first entry into the upcyling challenge! I love thrift shopping, and have been going to thrift stores for most of my life. Since I learned to sew about 4 years ago, thrift stores have become my favorite place for unique fabric finds, and fabrics that push me outside of my comfort zone with little risk. My mom kind of has a “thing” for flamingos and has quite the electric collection of flamingo themed knick-knacks; so when I saw this awesome flamingo pillowcase at the thrift store I knew I needed to make something out of it. My daughter is who I sew for the most, and she loves her new “mingo” dress. The other fabrics were leftover from other projects. The pattern is Loralie from Violette Field Threads.
