Sewing for our grandson, Jack, is my favorite activity and his mom, our daughter, works as a recycling manager in North Carolina. Her husband is a graduate of North Carolina State University – The Wolfpack.
OLD GARMENT: Candace Ayala’s Upcycling Blog hints helped me to look for “just fabric” and “details” at the local thrift store, The Etcetera Shop. I found men’s sweat pants. They were in very good condition, soft, and had a great looking red coverstich detail on the back yoke and side seams.
PATTERN: The black blotches on the before photo are covering the actual pattern pieces I laid out – I understand it’s not correct to show them. Brindille & Twig patterns are basics that I use often. I laid out the shirt front and back and the pants to take advantage of the red coverstitch details.
NEW FABRIC: I added red jersey that I purchased at an estate sale and used a black and white coordinate from RockerByeDestash with animal tracks on it.
RESULT: NCSU Wolfpack Hoodie and Joggers.
