Deborah Devine – Project #4

I created this Wizard of Oz coat for my granddaughter, 6 years ago, with hand-drawn and colored characters mimicking the original illustrations from the Wizard of Oz. After she outgrew it… I just couldn’t  throw it away. So I’ve upcycled this jacket into a Hoodie. I added some knit cotton Lycra fabric that amazingly features the same original Denslow illustrations.  The hoodie features a built in pocket front panel that was perfect for featuring the characters and the yellow brick road. I hope you enjoy how the Tinman, Cowardly Lion, Scarecrow, a Dorothy Sleeping with Toto, the Poppy Field, and the Angry Trees were incorporated into this Upcycled Hoodie.
