Heather Hamblin – Project #7
This was such a fun & quick upcycle sew. My daughter saw the brightly colored animal print woman’s tank top on a Walmart clearance rack for $1 & asked if I could make it her size. I happened to grab the pink woman’s tank top that same day because it was also $1 & I like to keep solid colored knit tanks like that in my stash to use as lining for knit dresses. Then Violette Field Threads ran a special on retired patterns & I saw the Olivia tank for girls & knew it would be the perfect upcycle for my daughter. I had to make a few adjustments to cut all the pieces I needed out of the two tank tops but in the end we have the desired result, & I used the existing hem which made things come together even faster. In the end we have a super cute top my daughter adores that only cost us $2!! Now I want to go find a few more tank tops on the clearance rack & make more.
